# What Askplane is

> People build presentations with AI and get a silent room. Askplane adds live polls and Q&A to that file in under a minute.

People build presentations with AI. The deck is ready. The room is not.

Askplane adds interactions to the presentation you already have: under one minute. Polls and Q\&A live with the file, not in a side channel the room forgets to open. The audience answers from a phone. You walk out with a roster.

## The product

Askplane is the app. You create the event there. The room joins from a phone. You do not rebuild the presentation in Askplane. You add interactivity to it.

## How a session runs

<Steps>
  <Step title="You start the event">
    From [the app](https://www.askplane.com/admin), or from the [PowerPoint pane](/addin/hosting-from-powerpoint). A five-character code appears.
  </Step>

  <Step title="The room joins">
    Attendees go to askplane.com, enter the code, name, and work email. About ten seconds. Nothing to install.
  </Step>

  <Step title="You open a poll">
    The question hits their phones. Results update live: on the wall, and on the current slide when you host from the add-in.
  </Step>

  <Step title="You leave with the list">
    Export attendees, votes, and questions before the room empties.
  </Step>

## Who it is for

Meetings that already have a deck and people in seats:

* **Sales presentations**: check the room before you ask for the next meeting
* **Presales workshops**: questions and names even when the usual tool is blocked
* **Post-sales enablement**: who is stuck, who is ready
* **All-hands**: one poll on the slide leadership is already showing
* **Investor calls**: read the room without breaking the narrative
* **Vendor workshop days**: join on a phone, moderate Q\&A, export before the lobby

## How it is different

Most polling tools split the hour: deck on the projector, poll in another product. That split is where the room goes quiet.

Askplane keeps one channel:

* **On the presentation you already have**: not a second show you build in a vendor editor
* **Work email at join**: you leave with a roster, not a screenshot
* **Audience needs a browser**: the host may use an add-in; the room never does
